If you’re a newcomer to the world of smartphone technology, or if you just want to get the most out of your device, expert library staff will be teaching you the skills to help you get connected and take the first steps toward becoming a smartphone master.
The two-and-a-half hour workshops will cover Apple, Samsung and Android smart phones and Library Services Coordinator Rose-marie Walters encouraged all local seniors to take advantage.
“These workshops are for people who may have a smartphone but don’t realise that it is more than just about making phone calls – it is really a computer that you hold with your hands,” she said.
“It is about teaching you that technology is not terrifying or to be avoided, but can be an incredibly useful tool when you have the skills to get the most out of your device.”
These workshops will take place on Mondays at Cessnock Library on Monday 4 February and Tuesday 5 February 10am to noon and on Tuesdays at Kurri Kurri Library on Tuesday 5 February and Tuesday 12 February from 9am to 11am.
Bookings are essential, book online at libraries.cessnock.nsw.gov.au or through the event listing on our ‘Cessnock City Library’ Facebook page. You can also call Cessnock Library on 4993 4399 or Kurri Kurri Library on 4937 1638 to book your spot.
