After a successful debut in 2018, Mulletfest will return this weekend, along with a flurry of media attention.
Sunrise weather presenter Sam McMillan said he enjoyed his first visit to the town.
“I’ve been to the Hunter but never to Kurri Kurri,” he said.
“It’s been a really funny, memorable morning.
“I love that they’re committing to the Mulletfest, and the charity tie is fantastic, the Mark Hughes Foundation.
“It’s a lot of fun but there’s a good cause behind it which is great.
“The thing we rely on is for people to be enthusiastic and to embrace whatever we’re covering and they’ve well and truly done that.
“I think it will get bigger and bigger, I think Australians love that kind of humor and personality.
“It’s something memorable and a great icebreaker.
“Thank you to the locals for supporting us and for supporting Mulletfest.
“Keep growing those mullets.”
Event organiser Laura Johnson sang the recently written Mulletfest theme song Party in the Back alongside lead vocalist Chris Williams.
The song will be available on iTunes and Spotify later this week.
