Teressa, with the help of her local gym, Snap Fitness in Cessnock is raising funds for The House with No Steps, joining their For Fitness Sake challenge in March.
Legally blind, Teressa has limited vision of up to about one to two metres in one eye and less clarity in the other, yet this hasn't stopped her striding out of her comfort zone to help others.
Supported by Silvia Serto, owner of the Cessnock Snap fitness franchise, the pair have taken to the treadmills to complete 100km in just 10 days.
The women have committed to clocking up 5 km twice a day, spending up to 2 hours in total on the treadmill.
The challenge means the ladies will need to reach their goal in the first ten days of March and they are well on their way.
All funds raised will support the House with No Steps early childhood intervention programs to change the lives of kids living with a disability
Teressa has set a goal to raise $1200 during the challenge, with Silvia and the Snap Fitness Cessnock team promising to ensure she reaches her goal with a donation from the gym itself.
"When Teressa told me what she wanted to achieve, there was no question we would support her both in joining the challenge myself but to donate too," said Silvia.
