One pin that is, which is all that separated the multiple national Special Olympics champion from silver and gold at the World Special Olympics in Abu Dhabi.
"The Candian girl got the gold by just one pin," Marks said back in the Hunter after her world class performance.
"I scored 153 which included three strikes, but I was beaten by the Canadian who scored 154.
"Just one pin and I would have won gold. She was very nice though, so I was very happy for her.
"But I'm going to have to go back again and win the gold next time."
Marks' other medals came in the team event, for which she shared silver, and bronze in the pairs.
It was the Cessnock bowler's first international competition overseas and she loved the experience.
"It was very exciting. I had great fun," Marks said.
She admitted to some pre-tournament nerves, but said once she started to compete she quickly settled into her rhythm and her competitive spirit took over.
"It was my first time overseas for competition. The last time I went overseas I was only young and was on holiday with my family.
"They looked after us so well."
Marks quickly returned to her normal weekly routine of bowling at Rutherford Super Strike on Monday night.
"They all wanted to see my medals and to ask me about it," she said.
After the excitement of Abu Dhabi, Marks is now in training for the national titles in June in Sydney.
"It will be good to catch up with many of the people I went to Abu Dhabi with and of course to compete again for gold," she said.
