The 2019 Hunter Valley Wine Food and Film Festival is bringing Flickerfest 2019 - Best of Australian Shorts to IronBark Hill Brewhouse on Saturday.
This year will include Steffie Yee, who grew up in Branxton and attended school at Lochinvar and Maitland, debuting her short film - The Lost Sound.
"My film was created as part of my graduate project for my degree. It's about lost languages, and [how] it can cause a generational gap between families," Yee said.
The film creation took about eight to 10 weeks, and a lot of it was done by hand using Plasticine.
"It's really nice. It's nice that people are receiving it well," Yee added. "I am from the Hunter Valley originally so I'm especially excited because there weren't many art events when I was growing up ... so it's great."
Wine tasting starts at 5pm, and the screening at 7pm.
Tickets are available at winefoodfilmfestival.com.au; by emailing info@aroundhermitage.com.au or by phoning 0413 480 345.
