Cessnock Hornets have drawn fellow NewFM NL 1 side Kahibah in the next round of the nation-wide FFA Cup.

And the other local team Weston Bears will be at home to fellow NPL outfit Valentine FC.

Both Cessnock and Kahibah pulled off stunning upsets over more fancied opponents in round four, with the Hornets beating Lake Macquarie City in a thriller and Kahibah accounting for Adamstown Rosebud.

The two teams sit mid-table and their round 5 showdown at Kahibah should be a tightly contested affair.

The clash confirms there will be one NEWFM NL1 club in the State Qualifiers.

In other matches Maitland have a tough draw coming up against fellow NPL side Charlestown City Blues at Cooks Hill.

In a heavyweight battle Lambton Jaffas and Broadmeadow Magic - the top two NPL teams after nine rounds - will square off.

Matches are scheduled to be played midweek of the week starting on May 20.

The other two matches will see teams the only non-Premier Competition team, Warners Bay, host Hamilton Olympic while NEWFM NL1 side New Lambton will meet Edgeworth Eagles.

The six winners from the Round 5 will meet the two successful teams from the Northern Conference, Boambee Bombers and Bangalow Bluedogs, at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility in the State Qualifiers on the June (8-10).

The FFA Cup provides football teams across the country the chance to face-off against elite Hyundai A-League clubs in the national knockout tournament.
