Admission is free and it's a great opportunity to see top jockeys Robert Thompson, Andrew Gibbons, Darryl McLellan and Grant Buckley in action.
Crack Muswellbrook apprentice Samantha Clenton has made a remarkable comeback from injury after nearly two years off with a fractured spine, and she will also ride at the meeting.
Hall of Famer Thompson has now ridden 4404 winners while Gibbons is second in the New South Wales Jockeys premiership this season with 118 winners. Buckley has ridden 80 winners this season.
After next Monday's meeting there will be only two Cessnock meetings to complete the season. Those meetings are scheduled for July 15 and 30.
The respective Cessnock Premierships for the current season are tight.
In the Trainer's Premiership Kris Lees leads with 6 winners, 1 ahead of Paul Perry. Chad Lever heads the Jockeys Premiership on 5 winners with Andrew Gibbons on 4 and Darryl McLellan, Grant Buckley and Bobby El-Issa all on 3.
Mikayla Weir with 3 winners is 1 ahead of Qin Yong and Jacob Gilchrist in the Apprentices Premiership.
After a lean trot over he past six months Cessnock's leading trainer Jeremy Sylvester has been back in the winners circle in recent weeks. His smart two year old Luff part owned by the trainers father in law and retired Cessnock Council General Manager Col Cowan bolted in at Muswellbrook on May 3 and he followed up with a close second at Newcastle on May 18.
Sylvester's All Day saluted at Gunnedah on May 19 at $51.
