About 11am on Sunday, April 14, a 55-year-old male motorcycle rider was travelling south on Great North Road when it's understood he lost control and crashed, suffering injuries which required surgery.
Officers from Hunter Valley Police District continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
As part of their investigation, police would like to speak to a driver who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
The vehicle is described as being a late 1960s model Pontiac Firebird convertible with a white roof.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is urged to come forward.
