Bellbird JFC was awarded the Newcastle Permanent Club of the Month Award for creating a close-knit community environment within their club.
By creating and promoting numerous opportunities for players, volunteers, coaches and community members of all ages to be involved, it has led to a strong retention within their club.
The club enhances these opportunities by involving teams in club events, such as raising money to help finance the club facilities.
"Bellbird JFC has successfully created a variety of opportunities for all those interested and passionate about football," NNSWF senior officer community football Ross Hicks said.
"They are to be commended on their efforts of maintaining a cameraderie club ethos and for their retention of players, volunteers, coaches and committee members."
Newcastle Permanent Cessnock branch manager, Jessica Burgoyne, echoed Hicks's sentiments and is pleased a local Hunter Valley Football club has been rewarded for its efforts.
"Newcastle Permanent is committed to supporting great community initiatives and the Club of the Month Award provides us with the opportunity to recognise and reward clubs for the valuable contributions they make to their local area, both on and off the field," Burgoyne said.
Bellbird JFC will receive a $250 First Touch Football Supplies gift voucher that will allow the club to purchase new equipment to continue its efforts.
The Newcastle Permanent Club of the Month Award recognises clubs for on and off the field contributions including football experience, club activities, coach, volunteer management and special projects.
