Shane Punton, of Get The Edge, business consulting, has over 16 years of experience in owning and running businesses and is no stranger to hiring staff.
As a father to two teenagers himself and a successful business consultant he is passionate about sharing his vast and varied experience to help teenagers embarking on their careers connect with the right employers and get noticed.
Combining all of his business experience and time spent hiring and training staff, Shane will be delivering an event for teenagers and their parents to attend, free of charge full of tips and advice on how to secure an interview and achieve job success.
"I'm passionate about helping teenagers navigate the whole recruitment process. It's tough and for many there's little help about how to go about finding opportunities, who to approach and how to present at an interview, said Mr Punton.
"As an experienced employer I understand what businesses look for in new starts and can help these kids get a foot in the door.
"Not every job is advertised on the internet, so my aim is to equip them with the skills to find apprenticeships, or employment in their area of interest." He added.
The first event will run on September 5 at Cessnock Leagues Club and then on September 11 at East Mailtand Bowling Club.
Both events are open to all teenagers and interested parents who would like to get involved.
The interactive event will include an opportunity to ask questions and aims to give attendees the confidence to get out and find work.
Registering for the event is simple and can be done by sending an email to shane@gte10x.com .
Email by August 24 to receive a $20 JB Hifi gift voucher.
One lucky winner will also snag themselves an iphone on the evening when the luck door prize is drawn.
Commencing at 6pm until 7.30pm the only requirement is to arrive dressed as you would for a job interview.
