The helicopter was called to Greta Main, near Millfield, around 7pm on Sunday night after a 49-year-old man was injured when falling from a horse.
The man suffered a serious pelvis injury and was treated on the scene by local ambulance paramedics before being further stabilised by the Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team.
He was flown directly to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Earlier last week, the helicopter was called to Cessnock Hospital to transfer a boy who had been injured in a quad bike accident at Laguna on Thursday morning, and on Wednesday night before it was tasked to Millfield where a 40-year-old man had sustained a head injury after a fall.
