Picnic petanquers, backyard boulistes and family champions are invited along for a day of fun competition.
Gary Hosie, from the Boules Artistes Petanque Club, says petanque is "easy to learn, challenging to master and always fun".
"It is played on a drought-proof gravel 'terrain' by competing teams that throw their boules toward a jack with the aim of scoring points for each boule closer to the jack than the opposition's nearest," Hosie said.
"Boules may also be smashed away from the jack and that's when things get really exciting!"
Hosie said training is not essential to enter, but some people may want to brush up on the rules or technique in advance.
Teams must be registered by Thursday, with payment of $30 per team to be paid on the day. Check-in will open at 9.45am. Contact Grant on grantthreadgate@hotmail.com.au to register your team.
