Year 11 students from Cessnock and Mount View High Schools are invited to apply for the scholarships. The funds are held by the school and provided to the students to support them with their preparation for their HSC the following year.
Cessnock High student Vivienne Kelleher won the $1000 first prize with her etchings that were inspired by her love of the environment and concern for the planet in relation to global warming.
Katelyn Heard, also from Cessnock High School, was awarded the $250 runner-up prize with her photographic work based on fire and its power to destroy.
Five highly commended awards were also presented.
The scholarships are now in their third year and are funded by the generous support of ADFAS Pokolbin members throughout the year.
