O'Neills Tyre & Autocare Cessnock first opened its doors in 1961 by Jim O'Neill and Des White.
Fifty-eight years on and the business is thriving with Jim's son, Mark and wife Elizabeth now at the helm, continuing the family business (which Mark owned with Max Procter from 1980 until 1991).
Between the staff, most of whom have been with the business as long-term employees, they share over 170 years of experience in the tyre and mechanical industry.
"We like to offer a good choice to our customers, we are supported by the national business so we are able to offer the local community the same competitive prices that are available in larger cities," Mark said.
The importance of shopping local is something Mark feels strongly about.
"It keeps jobs in our local community, which allows flow-on effects to other businesses so that the community can thrive and grow," he said.
"It's really important to us and one of the reasons we have been able to consistently service Cessnock car owners for the last 58 years."
The business offers quality products and services - including tyres, batteries, wheels, wheel alignments, rego checks, pink and blue slips, vehicle services, brakes and mechanical repairs.
"We believe in ensuring we invest in new equipment and technology to keep the business up to modern standards and ensure we are able to deal with every customer need efficiently," Mark added.
