Cessnock and Newcastle locals Jacinta Baumanis and Michael Riley have teamed up with Hunter Valley-based Circus Avalon and Sydney's Orson The Magician to put together this new and unique production.
"Jacinta and I travelled through Europe last December to get ideas for this new production, the Christmas circuses of Paris really inspired us to do something back home in the Hunter Valley," Riley said.
"Over 500 new Christmas decorations and over $10,000 in new equipment have been purchased to really create a new atmosphere under the big top."
A sleight of hand master and illusionist, Orson the Magician recently returned from Las Vegas where he studied at the McBride's Magic and Mystery School (a real-life Hogwarts).
Orson will star alongside national champion artists from Circus Avalon, and one of Australia's greatest female jugglers Llynda Narin.
"We really hope we can create a new atmosphere for the people of Cessnock and the Hunter and keep bringing new and exciting acts each and every year," Riley said.
Shows will be held on Friday, December 13 and 20 at 7.30pm; Saturday, December 14 and 21 at 11am, 3pm and 7.30pm; Sunday, December 15 and 22 at 11am and 3pm.
Tickets are $25 adults, $15 children aged 3-12, and a family pass (two adults and two children) is available online only for $88 (booking fees may apply).
With only 200 seats available per show, booking in advance is recommended. Visit christmascircus.com.au for tickets.
