It will be the end of an era for the Cessnock Advertiser this month when we vacate our office at 155 Vincent Street after 47 years.

The Advertiser will continue to diligently serve the community with our weekly Wednesday newspaper, but there will no longer be a Cessnock office. Our last paper from the current office will be published on Wednesday, December 18. The office will close at noon that day.
From the new year the Cessnock staff will work out of the Maitland Mercury office building.
Our senior journalist Krystal Sellars and advertising representative Jye Metcalfe will still be accessible out and about in the town - always just a phone call or email away, and happy to come to you to do interviews for a story or to discuss your advertising options.
Many of our readers and advertisers have already moved with the times, and are increasingly using mobile phones and email to reach us, do business, write letters and engage.
And we've evolved too, with a purpose-built digital publishing technology that allows us to put out the newspaper and run our website from anywhere with an internet connection.
This means we can do our work from all over the town, and being out and about in the community will help us stay on top of local events and issues.
But let's be clear: we may be moving out of our office but we're still here!
Cessnock Advertiser editor Rick Allen stressed that the newspaper's commitment to local news coverage remains as strong as ever.
"This is about moving with the times," he said.
"There have been enormous changes in the newspaper industry in recent years and we are transforming the way we work, just as the town and region have transformed. We're taking advantage of the benefits of modern technology.
"In the next week or two we will publish a list of spots where the paper can be picked up in central Cessnock, and will also carry details about how readers can contact us.
"We're only a phone call away."
The paper will continue to be published on Wednesdays and our website at cessnockadvertiser.com.au will still keep you connected between print editions.
