The Hub Digital Forum - hosted by the Hunter Region Business Hub - will focus on four key areas: new technology, digital marketing, potential cyber-security issues and digital laws, with expert presenters in each field.
"Change is inevitable for small business, yet digital advances are happening so rapidly that it's becoming harder for small business to keep up," Hunter Region Business Hub manager Kerry Hallett said.
"However, for the viability and security of their business, keeping up to date with developments in digital marketing, new technology, digital laws, and potential cybersecurity issues is vital."
Ms Hallett said the concept of the forum began when the Hub was awarded Federal Government funding to roll out a digital business solutions program for small businesses (with 19 employees or fewer) across the Hunter, Port Stephens and Central Coast.
Ms Hallett said the digital forum will create a space for small businesses across the region to network and learn about the technologies that are emerging within the sector.
Speakers include Ray Corcoran (who will speak on low-cost marketing strategies), Nathan Franks (online security), Gavin McGann (new, affordable technologies) and Katherine Hawes (digital law).
The Hub Digital Forum will be held at Kurri Kurri TAFE on Wednesday, February 19 from 9am to 4pm.
Tickets are $173.35 (including booking fee) and are available via eventbrite.com.au.
