Home Grown in the Hunter, a benefit concert supporting the Cobargo Rural Fire Service, Cobargo Bushfire Recovery, families and surrounding areas in the Bega Valley, will be held at Hotel Cessnock on Saturday. Kurri Kurri Retired Mineworkers will meet at Kurri Senior Citizens Centre this coming Monday at 10am. Payment of $25 for the branch's luncheon for the Mater Hospital on February 24 will be collected at the meeting.

Cessnock Leagues Club will host a charity dinner for International Women's Day on Thursday, March 5. Guest speakers include Got Your Back Sista founder Melissa Histon, country singer Tara Naysmith, Special Olympics swimming coach Ellena Morris and Cessnock City Council general manager Lotta Jackson, with performances by Trinity Woodhouse and comedian Emma Zammit. Tickets are $65, with $10 per ticket to go to Got Your Back Sista (supporting women and children who have escaped domestic violence). Call the club on 4993 2655 for ticket inquiries.
