He has been there four times and with the support and blessing of his wife Alex and his two daughters, Repacholi begins his quest for a fifth campaign by qualifying for Tokyo 2020.
Repacholi left the door open for a fifth campaign after claiming his third Commonwealth gold at the Gold Coast two years ago.
"I knew that I wasn't finished, I still had more to achieve, I was just stopping to spend more time with my wife and girls," Repacholi said in a break from a Saturday training session in Sydney.
"The (Gold Coast) Games were great, I got to shoot if front of my family and friends, my girls and my beautiful wife and I was lucky enough to win.
"I was happy to stop, I was stopping to spend time with the family.
"They were happy for me to keep going and I suppose I then made up my mind that I wanted to go again.
"It's not just a discussion I get to have with my wife, you speak with your coaches, your work, your sponsors and things like that as well. It's a big discussion.
"I want to win, I want to go and win. My wife is happy for me to keep going with it. She wants me to do it."
The first of three qualification events is in Brisbane starting on February 22. It is followed by another event with two shoots at Brisbane on the first weekend in March and a final event in Sydney on the third weekend of March.
Repacholi's most recent competition was the Oceania Championships in Sydney in November where he won bronze.
"I did what I had to do there to give myself an opportunity to be able to qualify for the Olympics," he said.
"I've been training since.
"There are the three qualifying events, with four shoots over the three."
Repacholi is confident of making the team for Tokyo but the commitment only just begins there with several trips overseas before the games which will be held from July 24 to August 9.
"There will be two or more World Cup events overseas as well as a test event in Tokyo. Then there will be training camps and other things.
"You are trying to be a professional athlete while still trying to work, it makes it challenging.
"I couldn't do it without the support of my work, my sponsors and of course my family."
Repacholi will be competing in just the 10m air pistol, after doubling up with the 50m pistol in his four previous Olympic campaigns dating back to Athens in 2004.
His best result at the Olympics was 19th in the 50m pistol at the London Olympics.
He has won six Commonwealth Games medals including gold in Melbourne 2006 (50m), Glasgow 2014 (10m) and Gold Coast (50m).
