Shine your shoes, press your dress and start practicing your best rock 'n' roll moves - the Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival is just two weeks away.
The festival will run from March 27 to 29, and the program once again boasts some of the best '50s/60s rock 'n' roll and rockabilly acts from around the country.
Crowd favourites Jumpin' Jukebox will have a busy weekend, performing at the family fun night in Rotary Park on the Friday night; the Rock 'n' Roll Express at Richmond Vale Railway Museum on the Saturday night, and closing the festival at the Last Chance Dance at Weston Workers Club on the Sunday night.
The trio's vocalist Aaron W Mansfield will perform solo on the main stage in Rotary Park on the Saturday (9am and 10.30am) and Sunday (10.30am and 1.15pm).
Mansfield is known as a talented vocal impersonator, paying tribute to artists like Roy Orbison, Johnny O'Keefe, Frankie Valli, Buddy Holly and more.
Rockabilly fans won't want to miss Rachael Brady and the Moonshine Special, bringing their special blend of nostalgia-laden, alt-country-noir to the Rotary Park main stage on the Saturday, with performances at 12pm and 2.15pm.
Saturday's free entertainment also includes DJ Gav, Chance2Dance, best dressed competitions, Teaki Hoops (vintage hula hoop demonstrations) and the Sydney Swing Katz.
Sunday is the biggest day of the festival, with live music on three stages in the Kurri Kurri CBD.
Along with Mansfield, main stage entertainment on the Sunday will be provided by Louis King and DJ Gav. The Rattlesnakes and DJ Vinnie will appear on the Lang Street stage (near the Chelmsford Hotel) from 10am to 2pm, and honky-tonk pin-up gal Shelley Minson will perform on the sidewalk stage near Kurri Kurri Library from 9.30am to 1.30pm.
King will also perform at a ticketed event at Weston Workers Club on the Saturday night. One of Australia's most dynamic live performers and distinctive songwriters, he has been playing all over the world for more than 20 years, supporting artists such as BB King, Michael Hill, Buddy Guy, Screamin' Jay Hawkins and Jimmie Vaughan.
Friday night's Rock 'n' Roll Express will feature Toni and the Rhythm Cats, and a dinner dance will be held at Kurri Kurri Ambulance Hall on the Saturday with entertainment by Mr James Band and DJ Vinnie.
Other ticketed events include the retro high tea at Kurri Kurri High School on the Friday afternoon, and the Burlesque Idol Australia grand final at Weston Workers Club on the Friday night (an 18-plus event).
