A new date for the festival is yet to be announced, but organisers remain hopeful that it will happen in 2020.
"We are hoping to hold the event this year as businesses and tourism needs it, we just have to wait until the restrictions are lifted," Sustainable Cessnock coordinator Anthony Burke said.
First held in 2016, the Cessnock Stomp Festival is an initiative of the Cessnock Chamber of Commerce, and brings up to 17,000 people to Vincent Street for a day of wine, food and family fun.
