The federal government will spend $4.3 million to create a website that will list all the short courses available at universities as part of coronavirus online teaching initiatives.

Since the government announced changes to existing funding for universities to allow more "micro-credential" courses to be offered, 54 institutions have created 344 short online courses. The new marketplace to be announced today will allow them all to be found in one spot.
Potential students will be able to compare course outcomes, duration, mode of delivery and credit points.
Education Minister Dan Tehan said the platform would allow adult workers who are hoping to upskill to see what they can learn to either get a new job or get ahead in their current job.
The website is expected to be launched and ready for users next year.
