After a lengthy investigation, Ms Holmes, 27, was arrested at Toronto police station on Monday and charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, negligent driving occasioning death, driving with an illicit drug in her system and exceeding the speed limit by more than 20km/h.
Ms Holmes was refused bail by police and appeared in Toronto Local Court on Tuesday where she was granted bail on a number of strict conditions, including a curfew, reporting to police, a $1000 surety, abstaining from alcohol and drugs and not driving any motor vehicle.
The matter was adjourned until August 11.
Police said Ms Bourke was walking across Main Road about 11pm on February 15 when she was hit by a car heading south.
The driver stopped to assist, police said.
