The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast tops of 31 degrees for Cessnock on Saturday, Sunday and Monday - almost six degrees above Cessnock's average daily maximum for October.
The UV index is rated as 'very high' all weekend, so be sure to cover up.
And, we'll get an extra hour of sunshine from Sunday onwards as daylight savings kicks in at 2am that morning.
The nights will still be cool, with minimum temperatures ranging from eight to 12 degrees (about on par with the long-term average October low of 9.7 degrees).
As we wave goodbye to the long weekend, the sunshine is also set to depart, with a cloudy 23-degree day predicted for Tuesday.
