The Hunter Valley's premier Indigenous art initiative can be viewed online this year, with works also on display at a number of venues across the vineyard region.
Ungooroo CEO Taasha Layer said WUPA@Wanaruah is always highly-anticipated and provides much-needed community support to the corporation and the Upper Hunter Indigenous community.
"We knew we needed to retain this fantastic event despite the challenges currently faced by our community," she said.
"Since our inception, Ungooroo's story has been one of resilience and growth, built through strong industry and community relationships.
"Whilst we cannot meet in person this year, we are inviting our community to engage in our new digital version of the event and continue that support."
In its eleventh year, the organisation has engaged local Indigenous artists to create beautiful, unique artworks and special artefacts to sell via a new website (which has been made possible by the support of Mach Energy).
Selected works are also on show at Hunter Valley Resort, Drayton's Family Wines, Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley and Mercure Resort Hunter Valley Gardens.
The proceeds of the event will support the work of Ungooroo Aboriginal Corporation to deliver essential services to Indigenous people from the Upper Hunter (Wanaruah country).
"WUPA@Wanaruah presents an exciting opportunity for the community to secure a special piece of art that celebrates our Indigenous culture and heritage, as well as supporting Ungooroo's community outreach activities," Ms Layer said
"Supporting this digital exhibition will help our culture and our people thrive."
The digital exhibition is now live, and artworks are available for purchase at wupaatwanaruah.com.au.
