Cessnock local government area residents will be able to enter the pool for free on Sundays from December 20 to February 21.
The free Sunday splash has been on offer since 2017, with some changes this year due to COVID-19, including the option to book ahead, and mandatory check-in on arrival.
Cessnock mayor Bob Pynsent said despite some challenges posed by COVID-19, council will be able to put on these free days at the pool with a little bit of help from the community.
"It's great we are able to offer the Family Fun Days and allow community members a great day out, cooling down at our fantastic local facilities," he said.
"We are asking that all residents cooperate with the various procedures in place to ensure the safety of everyone."
The Family Fun Days at Cessnock and Branxton pools will be divided into two sessions: 10am-12.45pm, and 1.15pm-4pm, while Kurri Kurri Aquatic and Fitness Centre will run one session from 10am-4pm.
Residents wanting to secure a spot at Cessnock or Branxton can make a reservation, with bookings for up to 50 percent capacity to be taken, allowing for some walk-ins on the day (no bookings are required for Kurri Kurri).
Customers must turn up within 30 minutes of their session start time or risk losing their booking.
Once at the pool, residents must check-in using the 1Breadcrumb app to ensure compliance with the Public Health Order.
Staff will be there to greet patrons and ensure they are checked-in before entering the facility.
