The visitors had slipped to 4-67 during the second session on the final day, still requiring another 75 runs to make the Bulls bat again.

But a 111-run partnership between Jake Carder (57) and Hilton Cartwright (43) was enough to see out the day as stumps were called 30 minutes early.

There'd been little suggestion a result was on offer earlier after the Bulls had piled on 9(dec)-600 in response to WA's 5(dec)-458.

But Jack Wildermuth (2-30) kept the door ajar for the Bulls before Brendan Doggett (2-30) kicked it right open.

Wildermuth snared the key wickets of Sam Whiteman (8) and Shaun Marsh (2), both caught by Joe Burns at first slip to have the visitors teetering at 2-15.

Then Doggett did his bit.

He first had former Test opener Cameron Bancroft (20) caught behind after a lazy swipe down the leg side and then backed up with the prize wicket of Green.

The star allrounder had made 251 in the first innings and moved steadily to 35 before Doggett got a little movement off the deck to provide Burns with his third catch for the innings.

Green still tops the competition's leading scorers with 817 runs at an average of 102.

"To watch Cameron Green doing what he is doing at the moment - it's just great to see," his captain Shaun Marsh said.

His dismissal left WA in bother before Cartwright and Carder steadied, the Bulls' declaration perhaps not proving generous enough on what was still a good batting deck.

Matthew Renshaw, who top-scored for the Bulls with 139, felt his side got the declaration just about right.

"That's what we were hoping - to get a fair bit ahead and then just try and skittle them," he said.

"We got four-for and were really up and about but if was one of those wickets where those two applied themselves really well and once that happened it was sort of game over."

His departure, after mistiming a ball straight to cover off the bowling of Carder (3-134), prompted the declaration with Matt Kuhnemann remaining not out on 10.

Cameron Gannon was the pick of the WA bowlers with 2-78.
