A win was all important, but the Cessnock Hornets had to settle for a 1-all draw in their home clash against Wallsend last weekend, with squandered chances again the story of the day.

"In the last 15 minutes without exaggerating we must have had six or seven one-on-ones with the keeper and missed the lot," frustrated coach Mick Gatt said.
"We hit the post, shaved the post, were cleared off the line, shot straight at the keeper ... everything but go in the net.
"It has been the story of our season. If we had taken our chances we'd be sitting near the top of the competition because we're certainly good enough.
"Unfortunately you can practice working on your finishing all you like at training, but it's not the same as the pressure of a match."
Even more frustrating was the fact that Wallsend only created a couple of chances in return, but made one count.
Things won't get any easier for the Hornets this weekend, away to undefeated competition leaders New Lambton.
Centre backs Greg Anderson and Tommy Stewart were the Hornets' best again, with Isaac Peek notching the goal.
