Cessnock West Public School's centenary reunion dinner - which was due to be held on August 7 - has been cancelled due to the ongoing COVID crisis.
The dinner was originally set down for March 27, 2020, but was cancelled just two weeks out when Australia's initial COVID lockdown was implemented.
The organisers said it was with "great sadness" that the dinner would not go ahead.
"Given the uncertainty of the situation, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel the event completely instead of attempting to reschedule again," the organisers said in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
"It goes without saying that we are devastated with this outcome but must put the health and safety of everyone above anything else.
"If you have purchased tickets, we will be in contact soon to organise refunds."

Two upcoming shows have been cancelled at Cessnock Performing Arts Centre - Lyn Bowtell, who was due to perform on July 31, and the Sydney Comedy Festival Showcase, which was set to stop by on August 13.
Meanwhile, Hope Estate's Big Ram Beer and BBQ Festival - which was scheduled for the weekend of August 14 and 15 - has been postponed until October 30 and 31.
"Due to the extended lockdown in Sydney, and the potential for it to be extended even further, we have made the tough but logical decision to postpone the Festival until the 30th and 31st of October 2021," the venue said in a statement on Facebook.
"We'd like to thank all of our ticket holders, vendors and competitors for their support and understanding. All tickets will be transferred to the new dates and ticket holders will be contacted via e-mail with this information."
It follows the recent postponement of Dalwood Estate's Hunter Events Bar and BBQ Festival and Winery Run Hunter Valley at Wandin, which both moved from July to October.
