It wasn't a happy return for the 17 year older as he crashed heavily in his first race.
Miles escaped any serious injury but stood down from racing to be ready for the 2021 NSW Under 21 Speedway Solo Championship to be held tonight (Wednesday, December 29) at Kurri Kurri Speedway.
Miles began his speedway racing experience at Kurri Kurri in the junior 125 solo ranks and had quite some success.
He will come up against a quality field in the Championship event.
Former World Junior Speedway Champion, Matthew Gilmore from Cowra will be out to continue his winning form from Boxing Night.
Gilmore won the NSW Under 21 Speedway Solo Championship in 2017 at Kurri Kurri and he will be keen to win the event one more time in his last year of eligibility.
Blackalls Park rider, Mitch Cluff will be another leading contender along with James Pearson from Kenthurst.
Both riders represented Australia in this year's Individual World Junior Championship in Europe.
This will be Cluff's last year of eligibility and he will be buoyed by his newly signed two year deal with Wlokniarz Czestochowa in the Polish Under 24 League along with having represented Australia with Matthew Gilmore in the 2021 World Speedway Under 21 Teams event.
Sixteen year old James Pearson is in his first year of the senior division and is in top form.
He won the season opening event at Kurri Kurri Speedway earlier this month. Competing in his first senior title meeting, he finished a very creditable third place in the 2021 Victorian Open Speedway Championship.
Brayden McGuinness from South Australia and Jacob Hook from Queensland are two inter-state riders hoping to spoil the NSW party.
The 2021 NSW Under 16 250 Speedway Solo Championship will be held in conjunction with the Under 21 Championship with both events being officially sanctioned by Motorcycling NSW.
Practice is scheduled for 6:30pm followed by racing.
