Trbojevic played out Sunday's 44-24 defeat to Gold Coast which effectively killed the Sea Eagles' season and any hopes of finals football.

He reported soreness afterwards before scans confirmed the break.

It means he will not play again before Mal Meninga names his World Cup squad, with the lock an incumbent from the last Test in 2019.

"Jake Trbojevic injured his hand in the game against the Titans, and an x-ray yesterday confirmed the fracture," Manly physio Chris Bailey confirmed.

"At this stage we expect Jake to be out for the rest of the season."

Trbojevic joins brother Tom in trying to be fit for the Australian squad and he has not featured since his shoulder injury in May.

The fullback has previously said he expects to be fit before October, but will also be cold without football before the event.

Manly winger Jason Saab's worst fears were also confirmed, suffering a ruptured ACL on Sunday.

It means the flying winger will require surgery and is likely to be in doubt for the start of next season, with the average recovery time between six and eight months.

The injury is a significant blow to the Sea Eagles who have struggled for form after the pride jersey saga.

Manly have lost their last four matches to spiral from inside the top eight to out of contention in the space of a month.
