The Hunter Vintage Festival was first held in 1973 at the site of the now De Bortoli Wines in Pokolbin and later at Cessnock Showground.
The festival was run every second year up until 1983, drawing thousands of locals and visitors in its heyday.
Meanwhile, the revived Hunter Valley Wine Festival will take place at Crowne Plaza on Saturday, June 30 from 11am to 5pm.
It will feature more than 50 stalls including wine, beer and cider, plus food outlets, entertainment and kids activities. Find out more at huntervalleywinefestival.com.
