Cessnock had a record-breaking 89-7 victory over fourth-placed Wanderers at home on Saturday in the last round of the season.
Cessnock has broken several club records this season but has one major task left – to achieve the major premiership.
They finished the regular season with 15 wins, two losses and one draw, and on the weekend broke the club record for most points against a team.
Lewis Carberry scored a hat-trick, Nic Pringle and Jack Gibbons both crossed twice and Dylan Gallen, Zac Tyne, Ben Pringle, Daniel Scheffler, Pat Burns and Steve Herring also made the try scorers’ sheet.
Dallas Mountford kicked 10 conversions, with Adam Flynn and Nic Pringle also kicking one each.
The club would like to thank coaches Kenny Gallen and Grayson Thraves, trainer Jody Pringle, physio George Pringle, secretary Lynnette Pringle, vice-president Pat Burns, canteen helpers, April King, the groundsperson, supporters and all the players and to all the people who have helped throughout the year.
Cessnock plays Singleton Army in the qualifying semi at Gibson Oval, Morisset on Saturday at 11.50am.
