The occasion was naming the grandstand in his honour and organisers were thrilled with the response to what was a special day for the Kurri club.
Some of the best known names in Rugby League were there, including South Sydney team mates Ron Coote, Arthur Brannigan and triple international Gary Stevens, along with St. George great John King and Kurri internationals Eddie Lumsden and Jeff Masterman.
The Kurri first grade team wore jerseys for their game against South Newcastle that were replicas of those work by Sattler in the early sixties.
Sattler was humbled by the experience and proud to be recognised by the club.
He said he was excited and happy and that it was a wonderful privilege.
Sattler also thanked everyone for being there including many of his former team mates who had made a great effort to attend.
