That is what Kurri’s Vivienne Clancy is putting down to her latest batch, which includes a giant strawberry that is almost the size of an apple.
Mrs. Clancy has been growing strawberries all her life and said that secret is mixing a small amount of Vegemite with hot water and then mixing it with blood and bone.
She first discovered the “freak” strawberry growing strangely at the beginning of August and said that she has never seen anything like it before.
“It started of strange and just kept getting more and more deformed,” she said.
“It is the only one on the vine which is very strange.
“Who knows what it will taste like?”
Mrs. Clancy said that she planned on giving the strawberry to her son in Sydney as a gift.
A keen gardener, she also grows mangoes, cherries, oranges and mandarins but said that the strawberry is definitely her weirdest achievement.
