The club introduced the program around four months ago, and plans to continue the program during the school term in an after-school time slot.
The program is a fun format of bowls that teaches kids how to play the game as well as the proper action involved, but with softer, squishier balls suited to younger players.
ECBC marketing and promotions co-coordinator Amanda Barrass said the program has been great and is good for kids who don’t enjoy team sports.
“Sometimes team sports are quite intimidating,” she said, adding that they can also be expensive.
ECBC bowls coordinator Matt Crawford said this sort of a program is a necessity for the longevity of bowling clubs.
“This is huge, if there wasn't something like this, bowling clubs would die,” he said.
“We need the younger ones coming through.”
He said the all of the kids enjoy the program too and “all have good fun.”
The Junior Jack Attack is on again on Monday, January 26 from 2pm to 4pm. For more information about the program contact the ECBC on 4990 1444.
