Kurri Kurri hosted the district fours semi-final and final on Wednesday and Thursday. In the over-60s Bellbird Park were overall winners, defeating East Maitland. In the open fours Kurri Kurri were the winners, defeating Telarah. Thanks to all the spectators who made the event an enjoyable two days. The final of the club pairs will be played on March 5 and the major singles will be drawn, first round to be played March 19. Program: Monday, mixed mufti, names by 9.30am, play 10am. Thursday, ladies day, names by 9.15am, play 9.30am. Visitors welcome.

Names to be submitted for social bowls by 9.15am to begin play by 10am on Wednesday. Please note the earlier time for names to be submitted by. Congratulations to J. McKim, B. Crouch, J. Del-Degan and M. Crump on reaching the semi-finals of the District Open Fours played last week. The District Triples tournament will begin next week. No games were played in our Club Singles Championship last week due to District Fours commitments. Club Singles will continue this week with two games being played – D. Huth vs M. Crump and L. Johnson vs J. McKim. Please check the board to see if you are marking.

HUNTER DISTRICT BOWLS ASSOCIATION
The District Junior Singles was held on Friday night at East Maitland Bowling Club between two very experienced juniors. Kallan Egar (Maitland City) 31 d Jesse Herbert (East Maitland) 28 in a very exciting final. Congratulations to both boys on a great display of true sportsmanship. The final of the District Pairs was contested between Maitland City’s Darren Kedwell and David Dilworth and East Cessnock’s Simon Mitchell and Michael Cronin. The City side were the winners 19-18 in another hard contested game. The Senior Pairs final was contested at Lorn Park Bowling Club and the Maitland City pairing of Graham Solomons and David Button were the winners in a last-end victory 19-18 over Laurie Gatt and Keith Fullick from East Maitland. In the Presidents Pairs East Maitland were the winners with Phil Butler and Ron Herbert 25 defeating Paul Chapman and Chris Seers from Maitland City 18.
