Geoscience Australia recorded a 2.6 magnitude earthquake on Thursday, April 16 at 7.38pm. The quake happened in Aberdare State Forest.
The second quake, registering 2.5 on the Richter scale, hit on Sunday morning (April 19) at 8.54am, south-east of Cessnock.
Estimated damage and felt radius cannot be calculated for this earthquake because the magnitude is less than three.
More than a dozen small earthquakes have been recorded near Cessnock since August last year.
