The Maitland Magpies handed the Weston Bears a lesson winning 3-0 despite missing defender Brock Oakley for a red-card in the first half.

Ryan Broadley was man-of-the-match scoring two goals and having a hand in the Magpies other goal.
Broadley got the Magpies on the board when he tapped in a Blake Thompson penalty saved by Bears keeper Benn Kelly.
Kelly was lucky not to be red-carded after bringing Broadley down in the second-half. Dean Heffernan converted the subsequent penalty.
Broadley’s second goal was set up by Ben Martin.
Bears coach Trevor Morris he was very disappointed with the result and that it could have been worse as they were very lucky the Kelly wasn’t sent off for his challenge on Broadley.
“We were second best all day. They were the better team all day.
“I’m very disappointed. We trained exceptionally well on Friday night, we had a game plan and I felt very good pre-game as it looked like everyone was up for it.
“Unfortunately, it went out the window after about 10 minutes.
One positive for the Bears was the debut of 18-year-old midfielder Isaac Peek and fellow youngster left fullback Lachlan Rowe.
“Isaac was outstanding, he was a standout for us,” he said.
