Injuries and fatigue took their toll on Kurri Kurri on the final day of the NSW Netball Championships.
Kurri Kurri Netball Association’s senior team finished 13th in Open Division Two after going into the final day in sixth.
The under 17s ended 18th after making a bright start to the competition at Charlestown.
Kurri Kurri captain coach Jess Stephens said injuries and subsequent fatigue on the remainder of the squad took their toll on the two teams.
Stephens was among the injured, suffering concussion and sporting a black-eye after crashing to the ground while defending on the final day.
“I think both teams did extremely well and were in contention going into the final day,” Stephens said.
“The under-17 girls did really well, especially considering they had only one competition together before the titles.
“Injuries and fatigue caught up with us at the end.”
