Stealing from Kurri cafe
On Friday afternoon, a male suspect has entered Harry’s Seafood Cafe at Kurri Kurri and allegedly stole $15 worth of food and the tip jar from behind the counter before running off.
The suspect is described as 16-to-18 years old with brown wavy hair and was wearing a black hooded jumper.
Slow driver
Cessnock police were patrolling Aberdare Road, Cessnock on Friday evening when they have observed a vehicle driving at an unusually slow speed.
The vehicle was stopped and the driver was slurred in his speech and had bloodshot eyes.
He was deemed as unfit to drive and conveyed to Cessnock Hospital where he underwent drug testing.
Assault on shopkeeper
On Sunday a male person was seen acting suspiciously while walking through the Target store in Cessnock . A shopkeeper recognised him as having previously committed offences in the store.
Subsequently the male was asked to leave the store and from this has become irate and has pushed the shopkeeper in the chest before leaving.
Noisy resident
In the early hours of Sunday morning police attended a residential premises in Alexandra Street, Kurri Kurri where booming music could be heard from the street.
Police deemed the noise as offensive and as such a noise abatement direction was issued to the resident for a period of 28 days.
