Dennis Moore has become the first Cessnock Masters Swimming Club member to compete in 300 carnivals.
Moore reached the milestone at the Hills Swimming Carnival at Galston on July 24.
He attended the carnival with fellow Cessnock club members John Smith and Gail Wright, who arranged with carnival officials to present Moore with his 300th carnival patch.
The patch is the custom with Cessnock club when a member reaches the milestone of carnival attendances.
More than 20 Cessnock Masters swimmers have achieved 100-carnival status and four members have reached 200 carnivals.
Moore and Smith also worked as referees at the carnival, as well as swimming on the day.
Moore is an active member of the Cessnock Pool Users Group, which is advocating for a new aquatic centre with a 51-metre indoor pool in Cessnock.
