A 33-year-old man has been stabbed multiple times at Cessnock jail.

A spokeswoman for Corrective Services NSW confirmed a 33-year-old inmate was stabbed on Friday morning. His two alleged assailants, also inmates, have been identified "pending further enquiries".
Corrective Services is investigating the incident. Central Hunter police were en route to the facility at 11am Friday.
Paramedics were called to Lindsay Street about 9.30am after reports of an incident where a man was assaulted.
An Ambulance NSW spokesman said the man had suffered multiple stab wounds.
A helicopter had been dispatched to meet the ambulance, but was not needed to transport him.
The 33 year old patient was transported to John Hunter Hospital by road ambulance.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter’s medical crew treated him as well as ambulance paramedics.
He was reported to be in a stable condition.
