Author and presenter Monte Dwyer will give a talk at Kurri Kurri and Cessnock libraries on Thursday, September 8.
Dwyer was born in Newcastle and has had an extremely successful career as the weather presenter on the ABC, which led to his role on the Today show from 1991 to 2002.
Throughout his media career he has also been a playwright, an actor, a radio announcer, a newspaper columnist, an author, a musician and a sometime journalist.
A career highlight was back in 2007 when 60 Minutes reporter Charles Woolley talked Dwyer into driving around the country in a campervan, sourcing and broadcasting stories for his (then) radio show, ‘Across Australia’.
His presentation is expected to focus on his travels around Australia, where he may even treat audiences to a song.
Talks will be held at Kurri Kurri Library at 2pm, and Cessnock Library at 6pm Thursday.
Booking are essential. Call Kurri Library 4937 1638 or email karen.bruce@cessnock.nsw.gov.au; or Cessnock Library on 4993 4399 or email library@cessnock.nsw.gov.au.
