The Lochinvar Music Club has once again rounded up an impressive lineup of country musicians for a concert to support Australia’s drought-affected farmers.
The third annual ‘Mackenzie’s Farm Aid’ concert will be held at Cessnock Ex-Services Club on Saturday, September 17.
The Farm Aid appeal is the brainchild of Kearsley singer Mackenzie Pringle, 17, and has helped raise $20,000 for the Buy A Bale campaign since 2014.
“I’ve grown up on a small property and I love the farm life,” Mackenzie said.
“When I heard how much the farmers were struggling, I wanted to help out as much as I could.”
Now a full-time student at Tocal Agricultural College, Mackenzie said this year’s Farm Aid concert wouldn’t have happened without the help of her parents and the Lochinvar Music Club.
Along with Mackenzie, the line-up also includes Brothers 3 (who placed third on The X-Factor in 2014), local legend Slim Newton (of Redback on the Toilet Seat fame), Dianne Lindsay, Greg Bain and Amber Tull.
Tickets are $15 and the show will start at 6pm. A courtesy bus is available; call the club on 4991 1884.
