The Hunter is home to a thriving equestrian heritage that kids can tap into with a lesson at Sterntaler’s horse riding school and training centre at Buchanan.
Sterntaler offers lessons for all levels of experience from beginners through to competition as well as two-day and five-day school holiday horse camps.
Kids get to hang out together, feed and groom the horses every day and have lessons and riding groups, then at night they can settle in and watch horsie movies to their hearts content.

If motorised horsepower is more your style, feed that need for speed at Go Kart Go’s purpose-built 850m state-of-the-art track at Kearsley.
One of four tracks in the Go Karts Go Hunter stable – along with Bob’s Farm, Broadmeadow and Cameron Park – Kearsley can accomodate up to 30 people on the track at any one time.
There are double karts and junior karts available and everyone is individually lap-timed to the thousandth of a second. Everyone gets a computerised printout of their performance so you can see who’s the fastest.
