The women unveiled the The Hunter River District Women's Bowls Association 2016 pennant at the Kurri Kurri Bowls Club.
They won in a nail-biter from the powerful Raymond Terrace team after taking out the district final.
“This was the third year in a row that we played against Raymond Terrace in our region and the last two years they had beaten us convincingly,” team member Carolyn Glen said.
“We only won by one shot but to get over them was like winning a state flag, it was just so very exciting as they have so many talented players.”
After winning the zone title, Kurri Kurri’s women played with distinction at the state pennants finals in August. They narrowly missed out on second place in their section behind eventual champions Cabramatta.
