A small earthquake was detected near Cessnock on Tuesday morning.
The 2.7-magnitude quake was recorded off Sandy Creek Road, Quorrobolong at 2.30am Tuesday.
It was the fifth quake in the Cessnock area in the past four weeks, and the fifteenth quake in the Hunter Region in the past four months.
