Over-55s will have the opportunity to hear how best to prepare for the looming pension changes at a free seminar at Cessnock Leagues Club on November 17.
Ingenia Lifestyle has organised pension expert, finance author and government advisor Rachel Lane to make the presentation.
Ms Lane said now was an opportune time for seniors to re-evaluate their finances and think about what lifestyle changes could better prepare them for the future.
“It’s incredibly important for seniors to understand what financial impact the changes will have, based on their means,” she said.
“Those with assets above the new thresholds are likely to see their pension reduced – and those whose assets exceed the new cut off limit will lose their pension entirely.
“Downsizing frees up assets and maximises finances and by being fully aware of these options, outside of the aged pension, over 55s may find themselves better off.”
The seminar will be held at Cessnock Leagues Club’s Chardonnay Room on Thursday, November 17 from 10am to 12pm.
RSVP to Rachel Pullicino on 0459 995 919. Every event registration receives an entry into the $5000 cruise competition, sponsored by Ingenia Lifestyle.
