Abermain Bowling Club has handed over $4250 to Ronald McDonald House Newcastle, following a bowls day fundraiser in September.
Twenty-two teams took part, and raised money through raffles, a tombala and auction.
The organisers also held bucket drops at Weston Bears and Kurri Bulldogs home games, and the bowling club itself had a bucket on the bar for donations.
It was the fourth year the club has held the bowls day in aid of Ronald McDonald House.
The first event raised $2500, and each year the fundraising total has exceeded the previous effort.
Bowls day organiser Ian Lewis, a grandfather-of-seven, said Ronald McDonald House does great things to help sick children and their families.
“When you go down and see them, it urges you to do more to try to help,” he said.
Ronald McDonald House Newcastle community engagement coordinator Isha Doyle said the organisation appreciated the support.
“It’s really important to have community groups like Abermain Bowling Club raising money to support these families,” she said.
